Cullercoats through to Semi-Final of Northern Alliance Cup

On Saturday 22 December 2018, Cullercoats travelled to St. James Park, Alnwick, in the Northern Alliance Cup quarter-final.

That game was played on a heavy pitch, but both teams managed the conditions well.

Alnwick started on the front foot in the first 20 mins, without creating any real opportunity in front of goal.

Cullercoats fought back and on 42 mins, the visitors earned a free kick just outside the box. Phil Smith took the free kick, which was parried by the home keeper and finished off by Chris Connor, who was quick to react to make it 1-0 at the break.

Cullercoats continued to make the running in the second half and Chris Connor sealed the victory with his second goal in the last 10 mins to make the final score 2-0.
