The Management Committee at CFC have submitted an expression of interest application to Northumberland FA in relation to proposals to build a new clubhouse and changing facility at Links Avenue on the site of the current changing rooms and temporary canteen.
We are at a very early stage and await initial scoring and feedback on the application, but we hope to be successful in securing future funding to enable us to complete a new build by July 2018/19. The 12 months leeway is to allow for any future delays in completing funding requirements and acceptance of our sustainability plan for annual running costs and upkeep of the new facility.
There is NO guarantee that we will indeed secure funding through the Football Foundation and Sport England (as the main sources of capital funding), and we will also need to secure formal planning consent, but in this our centenary year, we believe the time is right to push on with this project as part of the Club’s new five year development plan (2015-2020).
The are plans for an EGM in January 2016 and all Club members will be invited to attend when we will outline the project plans in more detail.
